We are a church that belives in Jesus christ and the followers and We are a church that belives in Jesus christ

The Ministerial Team of the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has hosted members of its Audio Visual Unit to an end-of-year reception. The brief ceremony which took place in the offices of the District Minster, Rev. Stephen Nii Lankwei Lawson, also had in attendance the Second Minister, Rev Kennedy Kofi Asante Sarpong and catechist Elvis Aboagye

APPRECIATION

2015-01-05(20)In a brief remark, the District Minister on behalf of the Ministerial Team and Session expressed appreciation and admiration to the unit for the role its being playing to support worship services in the church. Rev Lankwei Lawson who has spent barely three month with the HOPE Congregation said he was particularly impressed with the output of the unit during the Night of Hope event held of December 24, 2014 as well as the December 31 watch night service. He also singled out the Family Service held on December 28, 2014. He said in all these service, members of the Audio Visual Unit demonstrated their commitment and dedication to serve the church with their talent. He however appealed to the Unit and its members not to limit their focus on the second service of the church but rather to extend their commitment to other worship services and programmes organized by the Church.

Rev. Lankwei Lawson said most often it appears emphasis is place on Second service to the detriment of first and third worship services as well as the mid-week and Friday services and called on the unit to devise a strategy to meet the needs of worshippers of the various services which all have their unique characteristics.

ARISE AND SHINE

Rev. Lankwei Lawson said, this year should be one which will see the unit ‘Arising and Shinning” and called on them to fashion out a clear strategy that will see them deliver quality sound and also push the congregation where it belongs. He also tasked the team to work hard at reviving the online live streaming of services to enable church members wherever they are participate in worship service via the internet. Rev. Lankwei Lawson narrated his working experience with AudioVisual in his previous duty posts namely Kaneshie, New Fadama and Adabraka Ascension Congregations underscored the important role of Information, Communication and Technology in the spread of the gospel and said the leadership of the Church is determined to ensure that they provide the needed support.

He said in the past, most congregations in the Presbytery looked up to HOPE Congregation when it came to the deployment of technology in worship services but sadly “it appears those who were learning from us are overtaking us and pushing us to the background”. He therefore tasked the members of the AudioVisual Unit to be more dedicated and commitment to their duties.

Rev. K. K. Sarpong associated himself with the observation made by the District Minister and tasked the team to ‘Arise and Shine’. For his part, Catechist Aboagye advised members of the unit to improve on the efficiency of the unit and improve worship services in the church just as some charismatic churches are doing.
