This year’s Children and Junior Youth Week celebration of the HOPE Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has been launched. The objective of the celebration is to promote the well being of Children and Junior Youth in the church and the society at large.
The theme for this year’s event is “A child in Ministry” and a number of activities have been lined up make the week-long celebration memorable.
The events will kick start on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 with talk on the topic “A child in Ministry”. It will be delivered by Mr. Ronald Oppong Adom. Then on Thursday, February 19, 2015, it will be a Variety Night, and Time with Mentor from 6:30 pm to 8:30pm.
Friday, February 20, 2015 is dedicated to Night of Hope and Saturday, February 21, 2015 will see the Children and Junior Youth members partaking in a series of games and sporting activities.
The celebration will be climaxed on Sunday, February 22, 2015 with a Thanksgiving Service.
Proceeding the launch at divine service today, a team of children in a 10 minute presentation and with colour codes, took the congregants through the Wordless book for evangelism.
Each of the six colors of the Wordless book represented an important bible truth about Salvation.
BLACK – Sin (Romans 3:23), All have sinned
RED – Blood (1John 1:7), Jesus’ blood covers all sin
WHITE – Pure (Psalm 51:7), Jesus washes away confessed sin
YELLOW – Heaven (John 14:2), Believe on Jesus and receive Eternal Life
GREEN – Grow (2 Peter 3:8), Grow in the Lord
BLUE – The HOLY SPIRIT
Master Kirk Mortey summed up the presentation with an invitation to all parents and members of the congregation to partake in the week long activities. Rev. Kennedy K. Asante Sarpong officially lunched the Children and Junior Youth Week celebration and urged the congregation to make it a success.
