HISTORY OF THE GROUP

The Junior Youth (JY) is made up of persons within the ages of twelve and eighteen. The Hope Congregation JY started in 1991 with a total number of eighteen (18) members. The group began its meeting at the residence of Mr. W I K Dorcoo. The fellowship begun with two meetings days – one on Wednesday and the other on Saturday, but these two days changed to Sunday because of the inconvenience it posed to members.

The first Leaders were

  • Catechist Monica Aba Otoo
  • Mr. Seth Terkpe
  • Mr. Emmanuel Adu-Tetteh now Rev. Emmanuel Adu-Tetteh

They were later joined by Mr. Stanley Doku and Madam Confort Quainoo.

Sundays 9:30 – 11:30

 

PROGRAMME AND ACTIVITIES

Activities of the group cut across several themes concentrating on spiritual, social, psychological, academic, emotional and personal development of the individual. Divers programmes are organized within a year to meet all these needs.

 

HOW TO JOIN

Anyone within the ages of twelve and eighteen is welcome to join the group. That person must make the commitment to attend JY services and thereafter acquiring a booklet which is marked by the leaders on every meeting day.
