TODAY’S VERSE:
Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life[a]? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them.

THEME: WORRY verses FAITH
WORDS OF HOPE:
You must have heard these phrases before: Do not worry, it will be alright; Do not be afraid, nothing will happen to you. These are usually said at the time when prevailing conditions require that you must be worried or there is reason to be afraid. They are usually said when you have lost a loved one or have a life-threatening disease. These may come your way and it is therefore not out of place that we would be frightened or be worried one day even as we walk with the Lord.
But in that situation, what does the Lord say? He says do not worry and says again do not be afraid. He goes on to ask: how much can you add to your life by worrying or how much of your burden can be taken away by being afraid? To those who are seeking after material things, the Lord informs us that even if we get it all, our beauty and splendor will not come near that of the birds of the air nor the lilies of the valleys! This caution leads into asking: what pre-occupies your mind as we wait for the Master’s return? The Master will come like a thief, in the night and sudden. Your preparedness for his coming should not be impeded in any way by the cares of this life. The things you treasure most and where they are will occupy your mind on daily basis (vrs 34).
PRAYER POINTS:
● Pray for the grace not to be anxious of anything.
● Pray for God to strengthen your faith.
● Pray that you will increase in faith.
PRAYER:
Lord, assist me to increase in faith in the name of Jesus. Amen🙏🏽
