(Lent Day 37 🛐)
7 WORDS OF JESUS ON THE CROSS
WED. 17.04.2019

TODAY’S VERSE:
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

THEME: DON’T FEEL FORSAKEN; HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU

WORDS OF HOPE:
The burden and weight of sin made Christ feel forsaken of the Father. The Father and the Son had never had to be separated; they have always been in fellowship. But now the Son felt forsaken of the Father because He carried the weight of sin on the cross. Jesus had to be separated so He could bring us near to the Father [Eph 2:11-19]. In the same vein, however far off God seems to you, remember He is nearer than you think. He has promised never to leave nor forsake you. Be conscious of this truth and boldly declare “the LORD is with me, what can man do to me.” [Heb 13:5-6]. Never accept satan’s lies. God is with you and in you because Christ has paid it all. You’re the beloved child of God and you’re accepted in the beloved. Square up your shoulders and stride in confidence that God is with you. Affirm God’s presence in your life and your family today and always.

PRAYER POINTS:
• Bless God for today’s word.
• Pray thanking God for the assurance of being with you always.

PRAYER:
Father I thank you for your assured presence. It’s well with my soul no matter what in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽
