DAILY WORDS OF HOPE

TODAY’S VERSE:
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Psalm 19:7-11.
THEME: MORE THAN GOLD
WORDS OF HOPE:
God is revealed in His word. As such, Knowing God’s word plays a major role in helping us know God. In today’s text, the psalmist, describing the word of God as law, testimony, statutes, commandment, and judgments, shows us how important and precious God’s word is. God’s word converts the soul, it warns us and makes us wise. It gives us joy. It opens our eyes and makes us see things from God’s perspective. What then should our attitude to God’s word be? As Apostle Peter wrote, we have to ‘desire the sincere milk of the word [so] that [we] may grow thereby’ (1Pet.2:2). We need to desire it more than we do gold and much fine gold for that matter. More than we desire money, we need to desire the word of God and let it dwell in us richly (Col 3:16). In doing so we will not only get to know God but we will also be transformed by His word. Love the word, desire the word, eat the word; it’s more than gold! Blessings!
PRAYER POINTS:
• Pray that God will create an insatiable desire in you for His word.
• Pray that you will treasure God’s word more than gold and enjoy it better than honey.
• Pray that as you study God’s word you will experience and get to know God in a unique way.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, may I treasure Your word above gold. May I love, desire and eat it. And may I encounter and get to know you in a unique way as I do so. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen 🙏🏽
