DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
SAT. 04.05.2019

TODAY’S VERSE: (Read Philippians 3: 1-11)
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of His resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Philippians 3:10 -11

THEME: I WANT TO KNOW YOU MORE

WORDS OF HOPE:
In today’s reading, Paul made a list of all the things of which he used to be proud – a circumcised member of the chosen race, a Hebrew of the Hebrews, a Pharisee, zealous and righteous. He went on to say that in the light of meeting Christ he now considers all of that to be worthless. He moved away from what he had achieved, and engrossed his mind with the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ. Those are absolutely profound words. They are written by a man who knew Christ better than anyone else in the world. So there must be such layers and depths to knowing Christ for the apostle to be acknowledging to us, “I may know him, but there is so much more to know. How can we know Christ? All knowledge begins with such first discoveries. As believers, we need to spend time to search the scriptures. We need to spend time to wait in His presence in Prayer. How often do you study the word of God? How often do you pray? There is no other way to yearn to know Him more. To know Christ, you must know the Bible. It is not possible to say that you love the Lord but you don’t love His Word. Our knowledge and trust in Christ leads us to fall in love with him. To know Him is to love Him. Reflect on the power that resurrected Jesus from the death. Reflect on participation in His suffering. As you go through the day, desire to become like Christ. This is, after all, the very reason why we were made: to know God, and be known by him. Packer, the author of a great book called Knowing God noted “Once you become aware that the main business that you are here for is to know God, most of life’s problems fall into place on their own accord.”

PRAYER POINTS:
• Pray for the grace to know the Lord better.
• Pray to experience the power of His resurrection.
• Pray for the grace to become like Christ at all Times.

PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, may I become like you in all that I do in the name of Jesus. Amen 🙏🏽
