DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION – SAK. EST.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Psalm 23:5
THEME: UPLIFTMENT AND OVERFLOW
WORDS OF HOPE:
The word “prepare” means to set up, to set in a row, to set in order. “Thou preparest a table,” just like any ordinary peaceful occasion. Nothing is hurried; there is no confusion, no disturbance. The enemy is at the door, and yet God prepares a table, and the believer sits down and eats as if everything were in perfect peace. David reminds us here of the peace which God gives to his people, even in the midst of the most trying circumstances. Spiritually, the table speaks of fellowship and communion that is not broken due to circumstances, no matter how difficult. David describes the believer in this passage as a warrior, a priest and a guest. Reflect on these words. As a priest you are expected to approach the throne of God with confidence and boldness. Every believer is a priest but we cannot execute the priestly office without the power of the Holy Spirit upon us. In 1 Peter 2:9, we read, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. In addition, David mentions that our cup runs over. This speaks of the abundant blessings of our Lord. It means we have enough. David says we are so blessed that we cannot contain the blessings. David reminds us that God has prepared more than we will ever be able to use.
· Pray that the Lord will prepare a table before you.
· Pray to be anointed by the Lord.
· Pray that your cup will overflow.
May the Lord lift you high beyond your expectation and may your cup overflow in the name of Jesus. AMEN 🙏🏽
