Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 KJV
THEME: NO MOTIVATION? SET A JOY BEFORE YOU!
WORDS OF HOPE:
Motivation is a very important ingredient in the achievement of any objective. Without it, goals suffer and become difficult to achieve.
So important is motivation that even Jesus needed it to fulfil His earthly mission. According to the author of the epistle to the Hebrews, Jesus was able to endure the cross and despise the shame because of ‘the joy that was set before him’. The ‘joy that was set before Him’ was motivation enough for Him to go through all the difficult times He went through. Perhaps, you have a difficult task ahead of you this year. Perhaps, the mere enormity of the task leaves you hollow and helpless. You may even not feel like going on at all. Set a joy before you; create a mental picture of the joy you will experience when you get it done; imagine how happy and fulfilled you will be after you have been through the difficult times and let that motivate you throughout this year. Shalom!
PRAYER POINTS:
· Pray that the difficulties of life will not scare or discourage you.
· Pray that the Lord will help you set a joy before you and that you will be strong about it in your mind.
· Pray that God will give you the strength to go through every difficult situation till you achieve what He wants you to achieve.
PRAYER:
Heavenly father, I pray in Jesus’ name that You will enable me to be motivated by the joy set before me to handle every difficult task ahead of me this year and fulfil your purpose for my life, just as Jesus did. Amen 🙏🏽
