DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, saying, this man began to build, and was not able to finish. Luke 14:28-30
WORDS OF HOPE:
Jesus spoke the words in today’s text while admonishing multitudes who were following Him on the need to be deliberate about their decision to follow Him, taking into account the cost of discipleship they will have to pay. Aside its specific context, however, this text also generally draws our attention to the need to plan before taking action. Planning is key in the execution of any project or the achievement of any goal. Hence the saying, ‘anyone who fails to plan, plans to fail.’ Well, it is true that one might, on one or two occasions, succeed in achieving one’s goal without (adequate) planning, nonetheless, the fact remains that without planning, goals are often frustrated and never see the light of day. This is because naturally all endeavours are bound to face challenges and it is planning that helps to identify them ahead of time, gather the necessary resources as well as prepare for them. You most likely have many goals for this year. Plan before you set out to achieve them. Think through all the details, the possible challenges, the help you’ll need to overcome them, the price you’ll have to pay, the sacrifices you’ll have to make and so on and so forth. Doing so will enable you to achieve your dream and not stall midstream. Plan!
· Pray that God will enable you to plan. Ask Him to bring to your attention all the necessary factors you need to consider before setting out to achieve your goals.
· Pray for grace to follow your plan.
Lord, we ask that You will enable us to plan adequately and not carry out any projects unadvisedly. In Jesus’ name we pray with thanksgiving. Amen 🙏🏽
