And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:31-32
THEME: I HAVE PRAYED FOR YOU
WORDS OF HOPE:
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt a strong need to be prayed for, perhaps, by a group of passionate intercessors locked up in a room somewhere praying solely for you? I bet you have; everyone feels that way once in a while. Jesus Himself did in Matt 26:38, sadly however, His closest friends, the disciples, could not be counted on to help. And quite frankly, sometimes (if not often), that is what happens when we ask people to intercede for us. In today’s text Jesus assured Peter of His prayer support after He had informed him about an impending difficult time he (Peter) was going to face; ‘But I have prayed for you’, He told him. Much as we expect that all will be well with us this year, there is the likelihood that, like Peter, we may also face some difficult times. But how comforting it is to know that Jesus Himself will be our prayer warrior during such times! For as Rom 8:34 says, He is seated at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Beloved, go through this year knowing that God is on your side; the whole of heaven is behind you; Jesus prays for you. Shalom!
PRAYER POINTS:
· Thank God that you have Jesus for your intercessor (personal prayer warrior).
· Pray that the knowledge that Jesus intercedes for you will encourage and spur you on this year.
· Pray that in the midst of trials, temptations and difficulties you will remember that you have Jesus’ prayer support.
PRAYER:
Lord, we thank You that You are not only our Saviour and Lord but also our Advocate and Intercessor. We are grateful. May our knowledge of this help us to be victorious throughout this year. Amen 🙏🏽
