DAILY WORDS OF HOPE

TODAY’S VERSE:
Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine. Genesis 41:34-36

THEME: PREPARE FOR HARD TIMES

WORDS OF HOPE:
Many churches and individual Christians have, for some years now, made a practice of labelling each new year with the powerful experiences they are believing God to have. It is not uncommon to see banners, signboards, stickers and wrist bands with inscriptions like ‘My Year of Favour’, ‘My Year of Prosperity’, ‘My Year of Success’ and many such like. Though these themes could, among other things, serve the purpose of helping them realize what they are trusting God for, unfortunately, they could also make them deny the possibility that the unexpected could happen; often leaving them unprepared when it does. Today’s text teaches us the need to prepare for both good times and bad. This year, much as you are believing God for good times, prepare also for hard times. Pray, plan, make alternative plans, save when there’s plenty, prepare for days of scarcity. For, like Joseph, God has given you the wisdom to do so. Prepare for hard times, lest you be taken unawares!

PRAYER POINTS:
· Pray that God will enable you to prepare for both good and bad times this year.
· Ask for the wisdom, the strength and courage you’ll need to not only survive but triumph in Jesus’ name!

PRAYER:
Lord, while we expect good things from You this year, help us to also prepare for hard times. May You bless us with the grace, the wisdom, and the strength and courage we need to do so in Jesus’ name! Amen🙏🏽
