TODAY’S VERSE: ROMANS 8:15

THEME: VICTORY OVER FEAR

WORDS OF HOPE:
Living victoriously in Christ also requires you live fear-free. Fear, the Bible describes as a tormentor – 1 John 4:18. That is what fear, of any kind, does to torment you. Torment means it dwarfs or curtails your progress.
Fear inflicts punishment on those who harbour it. This is what happened to the ten spies of Israel. According to Numbers 13, these ten men were part of twelve men sent by Moses, on the instruction of God, to spy out the Promised Land of Canaan. After many days they came back with a very sad report. They reckoned that Israel, whose God had parted the Red Sea and defeated the world superpower of Egypt had no chance against the Canaanites and the other inhabitants of the Promised Land.
They were so afraid and succeeded in spreading fear through their report to the people of God. They said the land was good but the people were like giants and they felt like grasshoppers in the sight of the people. So, what happened to the promise of God that He had given them the land? What about the power of God? Fear had robbed them of God’s promise and His overwhelming power to execute on His promise.
Similarly, today many marriages have ended in divorce because of fear; many businesses have folded up because of fear. Some Christians are so fearful that they speak it and think it is cool to do so. You will sadly hear them saying “I’m afraid things cannot work for us…” Fear has torment; beloved, do not get cool with it. Stop harbouring that feeling of fear that sickness will kill you. Quit fearing that your business will go under. Rather, be like Caleb and Joshua who faced off the other ten spies with words of faith. They said, “… Let us go up at once, and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30
From today, quit living in fear. Embrace the faith of God’s word present and step out trusting God every step of the way. It’s well with your soul.

PRAYER TOPICS:
• I rebuke fear from my heart in Jesus’ name. I refuse to be afraid of today and the future in Jesus’ name.
• Declare that you are as bold as a lion triumphing over all things.

PRAYER:
Thank you, Father, that fear has no place in me. I embrace your love and peace. I make steady progress therefore in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
