WORDS OF HOPE:
Have you ever heard someone saying “if Jesus would come, He would have come by now”? Do not be confused and never give in to such doubts. No one can determine or change what God has said. He is sovereign and He will do what He has said He will do.
Unfortunately, those who hold the view that Christ has been slow on His promise to return are living in sin. They are not ready for His coming. 2 Peter 3:9 says “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” While we live, we must do so with the consciousness that Jesus Christ will surely come back. Living a life with that consciousness will help us to embrace death when our time is due. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain”. (Philippians 1:21). We should always be expectant of His coming because the hour is unknown.
Jesus will surely come. How ready are you?
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Thank God for the assurance of His return.
• Pray for the grace to live as one expecting the return of Christ.
• Pray that you will not fall for deceitful teachings concerning the coming of Christ.
PRAYER:
Dear Jesus, grants us the grace to live as people eagerly awaiting your return. Amen
