DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: GALATIANS 5:22-23
THEME: BEARING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
WORDS OF HOPE:
Fruits are found on tree plants. Many people depend on fruits for nourishment.
In John 15, Jesus referred to Himself as the vine and believers as branches that bear fruits. Our bearing of fruits signifies our abiding in the true vine. In John 15:16, Jesus indicates that He has chosen and appointed believers to go and bear fruits and this fruit should remain. As believers, we do not bear fruits like plants. What fruit then is John referring to? Paul required the Galatians to bear fruits of the Spirit in his discourse with them.
God is Spirit and requires His children in whom He dwells to have His innate characteristics. It is based upon this, that He requires us to bear the character and nature of the Spirit hence calling us to bear the fruit of the Spirit.
God created us in His image and likeness and bearing spiritual fruits is manifesting what He has already placed but was lost due to sin. The scripture indicates the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
God expects us to bear His fruit without struggle and the presence of the Holy Spirit in us helps us to bear this fruit to manifest in our daily lives.
• Thank God that you are chosen to bear lasting fruits.
• Pray for the grace to bear the fruit of the Spirit
• Pray that through the Spirit-filled life, you’ll daily grow in each of the fruit of the Spirit
Father, thanks be to you that I bear fruits as a believer and that by the power of your Spirit I grow in bearing fruits. Amen!
