DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
SAT. 17.04.2021
TODAY’S VERSE: MATT. 24:36-44
TOPIC: PROPER PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE
WORDS OF HOPE:
I once had a lecturer who hardly announces the time for his exams. He can choose to conduct a quiz any time and these results are the ones he uses to compute the continuous assessment of his students. Imagine always going to this lecturer’s class and you are not properly prepared; you will perform poorly at his surprise tests.
This is the same way believers are called to live. We must be well prepared and be ready as we await the coming of our saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus compared His coming to that of a thief. No thief announces his time to raid a household. Even in instances that they announce, they mostly do not fulfil it. They will rather come at a time you least expected them. We must always be on the watch readily prepared for the coming of our Saviour. We must not be taken by surprise. Being taken by surprise by any circumstances means we were not adequately prepared for it. The Son of Man will come at a time we do not expect Him but He must find us properly prepared.
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Pray that you will not be taken by surprise at the circumstances of life.
• Pray that you will receive grace to be watchful for Christ’s coming.
• Pray that God will help you to be adequately prepared for His coming.
PRAYER:
Our heavenly Father, we receive grace to be prepared at all times for your coming. Amen
