WORDS OF HOPE:
Jesus spoke several parables about His second coming. In today’s lesson, we read about a nobleman who was travelling to a far country. He called ten of his servants and gave them an amount of money. He gave them a simple instruction: “put this money to work”.
When he returned, he called his servants individually to account for what they had used the money for according to the instruction he gave them. The first individual was able to gain a profit of ten more. The second was able to gain five more. Here came a servant who knew about his master, heard the instructions given by the master but yet did not obey. The master told him “I will judge you by your own words”.
Many of us know so much about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but we are unable to live by them. Jesus said, “Not everyone who calls out to me Lord! Lord! will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter” (Matt. 7:21). The third servant professed all that he knew about his master but didn’t live by his profession and therefore lost his reward. As we prepare for the coming of the Lord, we should live by our professions.

• Thank God for the gift he has entrusted to you.
• Pray for the grace to put such gifts to profitable use.
• Pray that your life will showcase Christ

Grant us the grace to be good stewards of whatever is entrusted to us in Jesus’ name. Amen
