HOPE Congregation Honours Mr Amoyaw Osei on his elevation as President of International Body.

SAM_6119A special thanksgiving service has been held in honour of Mr Yaw Amoyaw Osei, the President of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) at the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

Mr Yaw Amoyaw Osei accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth and their two children were joined by the the entire congregation and guests in praise and thanksgiving to the almighty God for the honour done him.

Mr Yaw Amoyaw Osei was elected to the high office of the IAIA in April this year. IAIA is a leading multi-disciplinary global network of professionals on best practices in the use of Impact Assessment for informed decision making on policies, plans and projects from over 120 nations.

These include corporate organizations, consultants, international and multilateral financial Institutions, Governance Regulators, Researchers/ Academia etc.

The Thanksgiving Service also coincided with the 25th Wedding anniversary and the couple celebrated that with a renewal of their marriage vows.

The District Minister, Rev. Stephen N.L. Lawson read the CV of the celebrant and congratulated him on his elevation to the high office of president of the international body. He spoke about the humility of Mr Amoyaw Osei and his fear and reverence of the God. Rev Lawson expressed the hope that the elevation will inspire others to strive for excellence in all they do.

In his acceptance speech. Mr Amoyaw Osei expressed his gratitude to God. “I want to celebrate God’s goodness and faithfulness. I look at my life daily and only marvel at the faithfulness of God”, He recalled his educational background all through to his work at the Environmental Protection Agency to Private consultancy and said all through He has never lacked.

He said what began as a mere lobby to represent Africa on the Board of IAIA metamorphosed into the instant election of the body based on his rich CV and attributed it to the doing of the Lord.

He said among many targets, he mandate as President includes providing training and attachment opportunities for young professionals and student members, strengthen country affiliation among others.

Mr Amoyaw Osei solicited the support of the congregation by way of prayers for wisdom, traveling mercies and strength to enable him discharge his mandate.

Preaching the sermon, a former Resident Minister of the Hope Congregation, Rev. Erasmus Odonkor who preached on the theme, “Sow seeds of Faith”, tasked the congregants on the need to sow the seeds of faith in order to get far in life. “Success does not come on a silver platter. You need to show to God and be committed to your profession and ministry.” He said.

He urged the congregants to continually seek the face of God build our faith until God calls us unto himself.

Rev. Odonkor recounted support the Amoyaw Osei Family have given to the church and continue to give and said the recognition must not be limited only to the Hope Congregation but extended to the national level and requested that his name should be  presented to the General Assembly for similar recognition.

Mr Amoyaw Osei was presented with a citation by the Hope Congregation. The Boys and Girls Brigade of the congregation as well as the Young Couples Fellowship also presented the couple with presents.
