The Sakumono District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev Emmanuel Obeng Ntow has urged Christians to take Intentional Disciple-Making seriously in order to fulfil God’s command of making disciples.
Speaking at the 40th-anniversary thanksgiving service of the Ga Presbytery Men’s Fellowship held on Sunday, November 17, 2019, on the theme, “Go and make disciples of all nations: Men will be up to the task.” Rev Ntow said if Christians are not intentional about discipleship, they will be able to fulfil this mandate.
He said discipleship begins with sharing the Gospel with a person so that he/she will repent of sin, believe in Jesus Christ as their Saviour, and follow Him as Lord.
“We must set up an environment that leads people along a developmental path such that these purposes become fully integrated into their lives.,” he said.
“Our decision to follow Jesus is a life long decision, a decision that involves commitment, discipline, and surrender. One sure sign of a follower of Jesus is your excitement to share your new-found faith in Christ with others Men of this Church, let us all be up to the task, and always make disciples for Christ, ” He added.
Mr Seth Tekper, a former Minister of Finance, and a member of the fellowship who was a co-chair of the function admonished the Men’s and Women’s Fellowships of the church to see the JY, YPG and YAF as fertile grounds for evangelism and mentorship in order to groom the youth for leadership.
