HOPE Congregation Observe a week of Prayer and Fasting

The Hope Congregation of the PCG on Sunday, February 1, 2015 crowned its week long Prayer and Fasting week with a special church service. The week long event was themed “Behold, I make all things new”

The week began on January 26, 2015 with the congregation focusing on the theme: Newness of Life.  Day two touched on “Newness of Family life (relationship, marriages, Children, childlessness) with the bible text coming from Joshua 24:14-17.

On Wednesday January 28, 2015 which marked day three of the Fasting and Prayer session, the congregation based its teaching on the theme: Newness of Finances – unemployment, new and existing business etc). On Thursday, January 29, 2015, the attention was on the Newness of church life – new vision, brotherly love, HOPE  against pre-mature death, Session, Church Groups, Ministries, Impact on Community, Worship life, and the Children’s block. Friday, January 30, 2015, which also marks the churches Friday Night of HOPE witnessed a special prayers and adoration to the Most High with the Royals of Hope in attendance. Saturday January 31, 2015 was dedicated to the youth of the church.

On Sunday, which was also a Communion Sunday, the Second Minister, Rev Kennedy Kofi Asante  Sarpong preached on the Sermon “Behold, I make all things New – Rev 21:5”

He spoke on the newness of life in everything and ended the sermon by leading the congregation to pray on  ten things we as a church want to see happen in the year 2015 and 15 things the church do not want to see occur in the year.

The church prayed for (1) completion of the children’s block (2) a spirit filled church (3) more marriages and God fearing children (4) unity, oneness and love (5) blessings and power to make wealth (6) massive salvation of souls (7) revival of the midweek services (500 members) (8) more blessings in jobs (9) purposeful, God-fearing and wealthy youth and (10) sustainable marriages and unified families.

Finally the church prayed against the following:  premature death; backsliding, disruptions in His presence (prayer sessions); indecency with our dressing; miscarriages; dis-respectfulness; fornication and adultery; tithe and offering robbery; divorcees and broken homes; lateness to church programmes; unsettled disputes, disruptive decisions from within or outside the church; slandering, back biting , gossip discrimination and favoritism.
