The Young Adults Fellowship, (YAF ) of the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Sunday, September 25, 2016 climaxed its 10th anniversary celebration with a thanksgiving church service.
Highlights of service was the maiden graduation ceremony of some YAF members into the Men’s and Women’s Fellowship of the church. The theme for the 10th anniversary this year was “Anointing of the Holy Spirit; Anointed for Excellent Leadership”
YAF was formed by the Church to address mid-life challenges of church members who fall within the age 30 and 40 and to ensure that such categories of people remain in the church.
Those graduating were presented with certificate and encouraged to continue with their active services and let their light shine. The graduation service was performed by the 2nd Minister of the congregation, Rev. Andrew Shardow.
He noted that in life, we move in stages and these stages come along with their demands, challenges and most importantly, they have opportunities along with them.
He said as they stepped up and go forward into the fellowship of the Men and Women Ministry of the congregation, it is the hope that with all they have been equipped with over the years by way of experience, by way of professional skills and every blessing of grace that God has given unto them, they will be brought to bear in their involvement in the Men and Women Fellowship.
Rev. Shardow urged them not to relax but seek the advancement of the course of Christ as they move up into the fellowship of men and women.
The incoming District Minister, Rev. Emmanuel Obeng Ntow, said the transition of YAF to Men’s and Women’s Fellowship has alway been difficult but urged the YAF graduates to change the equation and make a difference.
Mr Eric Agyei, President of YAF expressed appreciation to the Ministerial Team, Session, Past and Current Executives of YAF, the 10th Anniversary Celebration Planning Committee and the entire membership of YAF for making the celebration worthwhile and urged those who fall within the age bracket but are inactive to join the group.
Citations were presented to some members of the group while a huge anniversary cake was cut to mark the event.
Earlier on Saturday, September 24, 2016 members of the group held a dinner and awards event to recognize the contribution of awardees to the group.
