The psalm read is simply titled A Psalm of David. From the text, it is impossible to confidently state which period of his life Psalm 27 was written. It is clear from the passage that David wrote this from a season of trouble. The text speaks of some form of rejection from the Lord. (verse 9)
However, this Psalm expresses a song of confidence in the Lord (Verse 1).
We are reflecting on the 7th and 8th lines of stanza 2 of PH 610; Anadwo akyi no, ade bekye daa
The term, Anadwo (Night) is associated with the following, sleep, evil activities such as witchcraft operations, armed robbery and so on, loss of direction. Anadwo (Night) in our Christian life is associated with moments of challenges moments of problems beyond the solution of human beings, moments of sorrow, pain and grief.
WHAT MUST WE DO DURING NIGHT MOMENTS
First of all, we must remain confident in the Lord that things will change. Verse 13
David spoke of a lot of challenges in Psalm 27. Despite these challenges, he was confident that His God has not left him. As Christians, we must remain confident that no matter what we go through, our God will never leave us nor forsake us. We must be confident that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Our confidence is in the fact that we have a God who loves us.
Secondly, we must be convinced that you will see the goodness of the Lord ( Verse 13). David was so sure that the Lord will show him his goodness He will see the evidence in the land of the living. He believed that he will surely outlive his troubles. Like David, let us believe that it is not yet over until the Lord says it is over.
Thirdly, we must wait for the Lord. (verse 14). David believed that help will come from the Lord. Esther 4:14a Waiting on God is very difficult but will surely pay off. As a Christian, we must learn to wait for God’s intervention. Patiently wait for the Lord.
You must know that, anadwo akyi no, ade bekye daa. Remain confident in the Lord that things will change and you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord. The Lord bless you and give you a miracle.
