Passage: Isaiah 42:1-9, Acts 10:34-43, Matthew 3: 3-17

In discussing a theme as: Chosen for the Mission of the Father, here are some likely questions you should be able to ask yourself;

  • Who is chosen and for what purpose?
  • What is a Mission?
  • What is the Mission of the father?
  • How is the Mission of the father executed?

In an attempt to answer these questions, let us take note that Christ did not proclaim himself to be sent but was clearly chosen, elected, selected by God. The Lord delights in him; he brings deep satisfaction and joy to the Lord. The Lord says “I say I will put my spirit on the servant.  Matt. 3:17. Let us remember, that in Isa. 42:1-9, we can understand that Christ received the trinity approval for the mission.  Each one of us has been chosen to be a servant of the Lord. We are therefore a chosen vessel of the Lord to bless others. Because of this, we are servants of the Lord and a servant must be faithful to the father's course. Our father’s mission requires us to do well and demonstrate power. God accepts people from every nation to carry out his mission.
