Passage: 1 Cor 15:12-19, Mark 5: 21-43

Jarius wanted only one thing - that Jesus would heal his daughter. He was at his wit's end, his twelve year old daughter was dying. He must have been delighted when Jesus agreed to follow him home. Just then, a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years touched Jesus' cloak, with the hope that it would bring her healing.

As she received her healing, people from Jarius' house came with bad news - his daughter was dead. Naturally, he would give up in despair. Jesus reassured him that death was not beyond him. Anytime we are faced with a challenge or a delay, we should not despair. God is able to salvage any situation. A delay only makes the testimony sweeter. Wait patiently for the Lord's deliverance.

The woman with the issue of blood had faith. She chose to take a leap of faith and touch Jesus. Jesus drew her out of the crowd and declared her healed in the presence of everyone. She was no longer an outcast, her disgrace had come to an end.

Jesus chose to raise Jairus' daughter in private, surrounded by her parents and 3 of his disciples. The resurrection of the girl was not meant to show off his power, but to glorify God.
Anytime we are in a difficult situation, let's remember to trust God. He will deliver us and glorify himself with our testimony.
