GO YE THEREFORE: Jesus said; All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
What does this mean?
He has permission to back you
He has the mandate to stand behind you as you go to make disciples
We are supposed to go in the name of Jesus
In verse 9 of Philippians 2:9-11, God has highly exalted him. He has bestowed on him the name that is above every name. In the verse that follows, we read that, at the name of Jesus every knee should bow; in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. Again, verse 11 says every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
So when you go to make disciples, testify about His Name, not your church or congregation. Tell the world - your family, friends, neighbours, workplace colleagues and those with whom you sit in the trotro and taxi. Tell the Uber driver that by God, all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, thrones or dominions or rulers, authorities.
In verse 20 of Colossians Chapter 20, God reconciles all things to himself and is not holding their sins against them.
REKINDLING THE SPIRIT OF EVANGELISM
To succeed in this task, you need to make a commitment today to;
1. Make a prayer list of persons who must be saved and spend at least 20 mins a week to pray for such.
2. Make an attempt to share Christ and His power to these you have prayed for; Tell them Jesus loves them and seeks the best for them.
3. Follow them up and invite them to church.
4. Spend on them when the need arises; it’s love in action.
