Passage: Romans 5:1-5; Galatians 5:4-10; 1 Corinthians 13:4-10, 13.

One may wonder why we are talking about love on Harvest Sunday. John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His son. The purpose of our giving should be found in love. Everything we know about Jesus' coming to die for us is a demonstration of God's love for us.

Hope, faith and love are the three creative forces of life. Love is the greatest of the three, it is the only commandment for the Christian. Faith must be expressed in love to gain divine recognition.
Every Christian has been given the capacity to love. God has poured out love in our hearts through the Holy Spirit. We must make a conscious effort to love one another.

1 Corinthians 13 tells us that love is patient- it suffers long. We must learn to be patient with the people we love, not only when they are 'lovable'. Love is also kind. We must be kind to the people around us.

Love is not arrogant or proud- we must make a conscious effort not to place ourselves above everyone else. Love is not irritable- easily angered about the things that affect us. We must learn to accommodate our differences as a demonstration of our love for one another.

Hope is futuristic. Faith is for now, but love is always. We must always choose love.
