We cannot talk about Christianity without talking about impact. There is a greater purpose behind salvation- Christians are in this world to make an impact. We tend to complain about things without realizing that we can change them. God is always using one person to make a change- from Moses to Gideon to David to Jesus. So long as you are a believer, God is waiting on you to make an impact. The bible says he died for all so that they who live will no longer live for themselves but live for him who died for all.
God used unrefined fishermen to make an impact. Education, ability and status are not an excuse. God is willing to use you. When was the last time you told someone about Jesus? When was the last time you used your life to remind someone about the love of God?
The word says you have an anointing from the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13 says we were marked with a seal- the Holy Spirit- until the redemption of God's chosen ones. Many of us are not using what God has deposited in us. We must engage the Holy Spirit so that whichever gift has been deposited in us. We may look like ordinary people but we carry the deposit of the Holy Spirit. Samson must have looked like an ordinary man but he carried the power of God in him.
We already know how to engage the Spirit- through prayer, reading the word, fasting and fellowship with the saints. We need to learn how to engage the Spirit to impact our generation. We need to make ourselves available for God to use us. Build up your spirit man so that you can overcome temptation.
Don't limit the Holy Spirit. He is what makes you different. He will empower you for the greater task he has called you to. Joseph could have chosen to be Mrs Potiphar's boyfriend and enjoyed pleasure for a while, but he would have missed his greater task. Avoid the little pleasures so that you can fulfill your greater task. Use every platform you have to share the word of Jesus. Engage the Spirit so that the little things you do in His name will have great impact.
