Passage: Exodus 35: 4 - 5; 36: 2 - 7
Service Type:

God-guided giving produces Godly generosity. God says, whoever is of a generous heart, let him/her bring gold, silver, and bronze. But this passage cut deeper than into our wallet and purses. God's word speaks to the attitude of our hearts. If God is not the one who guides our giving, then our idols of personal preference will be doing that.

It is when we give willingly that God will bless us. When we give our offering willingly, then we are able to take of His offering of blessings. Our God has an abundance on top of abundance. Our God is rich beyond riches. If God blesses us, we better believe we have got a blessing that cannot be stopped.

We must give perfect gifts to God. God loves a cheerful giver. We must respond with a willing heart towards giving. We should not bring our offerings out of duty or compulsion. In 2 Cor. 8: 1 - 5, God’s people gave what they could, from what they had. Some had gold and silver, but others had bronze. Some had animal skins to give, but others had the blue and scarlet yarns that were needed. God's people gave abundantly in response to God's abundant grace.

After reading Exodus 36: 2 - 7, the questions that come to mind are. Why were the people so generous? What caused God's people to overflow with such generosity? God's people gave abundantly in response to God's abundant grace. In Exodus 12: 35 - 36; God gave them favour in the sight of the Egyptians so that they granted them whatever they requested. We become generous because our heavenly Father is generous and has generously shown us grace through Jesus Christ. Let me end this exhortation with these.

When you give to God, the Bible tells us that, He is capable, willing, and able to open up the windows of heaven and pour out to you a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive.

When you give to the Almighty God, the Bible tells us that God is able to make your enemies your footstool, and cause even strong men to fall at your feet. When you give to God, you can be rest assured that the Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not ever want.

When you give to the Almighty God, the Bible tells us that He will rebuke the devourer, and that old serpent would not be able to take anything that belongs to you. When you give to the Lord Almighty, your prayer line will become a hotline. His line will never be busy against you.

God can and He will make a way for you out of no way. When you give to the Father in heaven, He will be your friend, when even all of your friends have left your side. In conclusion, God says whoever is of a generous heart, let him/her bring Him a generous offering and the Lord Himself will have a soft spot in His heart for you!
