Passage: Luke 15:1-7, Exodus 32:7-14, 1 Timothy 1:12-17

Who is a repentant sinner?

  • One who has turned away from the Lord.
  • One who realizes the corrupt nature of his/her life.
  • Worship other gods, doesn't glorify God.
  • Christ came to die for such a person.

Who is a disciple?

Is a learner, apprentice, student, follower, witness and reproducer. A disciple of Jesus is a lifelong apprenticeship and one is required to be committed and obedient (1 Timothy 1:12-17). A disciple is considered faithful and has been appointed into the service of the Lord. One who has been shown mercy and exhibits the unlimited patience of God.

Why is a Repentant sinner not a disciple?

The Lord tell us to continue in the Word of the Lord, initiate Christ in every aspect of our lives and love other disciples.

Conclusion: where do you stand?

  • The repentant sinner has a saviour only in Christ.
  • The Lord is interested  and focused on every life He intends to disciple.
  • Are you a convert or an unbeliever?
