Psalm 19 and the accounts of Luke talks about the same thing. From our reading, what has the word of life have in store for us? We read in Psalm 19:7 that “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” The word of God which is also the words of life are trustworthy. As Christians, if we should hold on to it, we would not need anything again. The word gives joy to the heart and offers hope to the hopeless.
The question is, where do we place our joy? Do we rely on God as the source of our joy? In Psalm 19: 11 we read “By them, your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.“ The word of God also acts as a warning to guide our journey as Christians. We all at a point in our Christian life need a form of warnings and cautions from time to time to guide us.
Warnings are meant to guide us and as Christians, we need to keep it those warning in order of us to receive that great reward that awaits us. The word of God is the good news for it gives peace, joy to the brokenhearted and save the prisoners. We need to liberate ourselves from the shackles of sins by relying on the word of God. How do you receive the word of God? Do you receive it as a rebuke or receive it with a heart of love
In conclusion, we must all note that the word of God gives joy, hope and peace to the heart. The word of God gives light to darkness and lasting purity of heart that leads to righteous living. It also gives satisfaction, keeps us on the right track by warning us. If we should hold on it, it offers huge rewards here and the hereafter. We need to listen to the Word of God and pay heed to it.
