Just like the biblical injunction in Exodus 20:12 which reads “Honour thy FATHER and Mother that thy days may be long upon the land which The Lord thy God giveth thee”, the Young Adults Fellowship,(YAF) and the Audio Visual Unit of the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana have celebrated Fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day.
The YAF and the Audio Visual Unit of the Hope Congregation paid glowing tributes to all Father in the church who have shouldered the extra burdens in looking after their families
Unlike Mother’s Day, Father’s Day does not enjoy so much publicity and fanfare and it was to the surprise of the entire congregation during all three services when a joint delegation from the YAF and Audio Visual processed to the chapel with a beautifully designed cake in the colors of blue and white and bottles of wine to present to fathers.
The YAF and AV executives assisted by Executives of the Men’s fellowship jointly cake the cake which was later distributed among fathers at the end of the service.
The Vice President of the YAF, Mr Ransford Dodoo in an interview explained that Fathers are worth celebrating hence the decision by the two groups to honour fathers, pray for them to be given strength in their crucial role.
The Senior Presbyter of the Hope Congregation, Mr Alfred Opoku on behalf of all Fathers commended the YAF and AV for honoring fatherhood and prayed that such gesture should be sustained.
