TODAY’S VERSE:
The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient. Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him. Another reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything. Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven if there was anything to forgive I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:6-11
THEME: THE CROSS OF CHRIST OUR FORGIVENESS
WORDS OF HOPE:
Our God is a forgiving God. It’s not a fluke or an occasional random happening when God forgives. It is God’s nature to forgive every trespass when we go before Him in prayer. That is why he himself in the person of Christ became a man and bore our sins in his own body on the cross. He did this so that He can forgive all who believe and repent. It is his plan from eternity to forgive and not an afterthought. Being God, it could not be otherwise. He forgives all our sins and heals our diseases (Psalm 103:3). The cross of Christ is the very center of God’s eternal plan. The upright of the cross speaks of God’s forgiveness and reconciliation toward man. The cross speaks of man’s forgiveness to his fellow man. We therefore pray, ‘forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us’. The two are closely tied together, we can’t have one part of the cross and not the other. Paul warms that we must forgive those who have wronged us so that Satan will not take advantage of us. Refusal to forgive is like playing into Satan’s hands. Forgiveness is fellowship with God the great forgiver.

· Father give us the grace to carry our cross of faith
PRAYER:
O Father, thank you for the cross, which is the very center of our Christian faith. Amen 🙏🏽
