DAILY WORDS OF HOPE

TODAY’S VERSE:
“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them. Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

THEME: KNOW HIM AND HIS VOICE
WORDS OF HOPE:
The church of God in the world is as a sheep-fold, exposed to deceivers and persecutors. The great Shepherd of the sheep knows all that are His, guards them by His providence, guides them by His Spirit and word, and goes before them, as the Eastern shepherds went before their sheep, to set them in the way of his steps. The Spirit of Christ will set before them an open door. The sheep of Christ will observe their Shepherd, and be cautious and shy of strangers, who would draw them from faith in Him to fancies about him. The challenge of the Christian therefore is knowing Christ and discerning the voice of Christ (Holy Spirit) from the voice of strangers, thieves and the robbers. You could be with someone but not know the person and so knowledge of Christ is critical. A one-off discovery of His voice alone is not enough. As His faithfulness is renewed every day and sufficient for the day, a consistent time with Him to hear his voice is paramount. The Sheep always gather to receive leadership and direction to and from the pen daily and same is required of every follower of Christ. The security, provision and leadership of Christ is guaranteed but it’s the perfection of your obedience that needs to complement it. This challenge is resolved as you daily wait on God in prayer, meditation and worship for his direction, leadership and Lordship.
PRAYER POINTS:
· Pray concerning the word for the day as led.
· Ask the Lord to grant you the gift of discernment to always know His voice and follow it.
· Pray that the Lord would grant you the Spirit of obedience in all areas of your life.
PRAYER:
Behold, He is with you till the end of age. You shall know and hear Him. Amen 🙏🏽
