DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
(Lent Day 19 🛐)
WED. 27.03.2019

TODAY’S VERSE:
Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’ “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
Luke 13:1–9

THEME: The only right way is Jesus

WORDS OF HOPE:
Jesus is all sorts of person! He will say what you want to hear; He will tell you what you must hear without apology. In the passage read, Jesus stands in the crowd and recounts two horrendous incidents – one, a sort of state sponsored terrorism; the other, a horrific disaster with people killed by a falling building. As if that is enough, He goes on to say:
‘Unless you repent, you’ll all perish in the same way!’ Whatever does this mean? Then, as the crowd murmurs in dismay and people look at one another, angry, frightened and horrified, they begin to put things together: so far, Jesus has been talking about God turning the world the right side up and inviting people to come to him.
Ever since that opening sermon in Nazareth, Jesus had been telling people things most of them didn’t want to hear. He has not changed even in our day. The gospel will not change to favour any generation. Paul writes to the Corinthians: The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing but to us who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Cor 1:18). How are you responding to the hard message of the Gospel that will lead you to salvation today? The opportunity can be lost, avoid it by giving your life to Christ today. Accept him and invite him into your heart, He is more than willing to come and pitch His tent in your heart and you will never be the same again.

PRAYER POINTS:
● Pray for yourself and the world at large that many more people shall receive this truth.
● Pray that your foundation which is Christ shall never be shaken.
● Pray for a deep understanding of being dead to sin and alive in Christ.

PRAYER:
Lord, may I be alive in the Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen🙏🏽
