7 WORDS OF JESUS ON THE CROSS
MON. 15.04.2019
TODAY’S VERSE:
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Luke 23:34
THEME: ACCEPT HIS FORGIVENESS
WORDS OF HOPE:
Forgiveness is a virtue most believers struggle with, especially when they are in pain from wrong meted out to them. Yet on the cross, at the peak of Christ’s pain He pleads forgiveness for His accusers and all who did Him wrong.
Jesus, did not just ask for these ones to be pardoned but that their wrong should be blotted out and not held against them.
To receive forgiveness of Christ therefore is to accept the blotting away of your offence.
This same blessing or benefit is what Christ exhorts us to extend to those who hurt us, however painful.
Today, accept Christ’s forgiveness for yourself and fail not to extend same to those who hurt you and spitefully use you.
PRAYER POINTS:
• Thankfully pray to God for the gift of forgiveness found in Christ Jesus.
• Pray for a heart that is able to forgive others, just as Christ forgives you.
PRAYER:
Father, I accept your forgiveness today. My sins are blotted out and conscience cleared of guilt in Jesus’ name. I release all men who have offended me and are held in my heart just as you have released me in Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏🏽
