DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
Now Thomas (also known as Didymus[a]), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” John 20:24-25
THEME: NEVER DOUBT THE PROMISES OF GOD
WORDS OF HOPE:
After the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ He revealed himself to the disciples but Thomas was not present as pointed out by the passage. Jesus has walked with the disciples, performed miracles and also informed them that He will die but after the third day He will rise again. Thomas did not remember this promise or doubted it probably because such a thing had not happened before. To the human mind, it was impossible. Thomas had never seen or heard of such a thing and as such he thought it was impossible. He had forgotten that Jesus is God incarnate and as such had the power to do everything. He had forgotten that in Numbers 23:19 it is written, God is not human that He should lie, nor a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Jesus is alive and whatever He has said concerning your life, He is watching over to perform. As Christians, we live by faith and not by sight like Thomas was expecting. Our faith depends on the word of God that never fails. He has the final say and trust that He is more than able only if you do not doubt like Thomas
• Pray for the grace to confidently trust in the Lord.
• Pray that every promise of God concerning your life will surely come to pass.
• Pray and commit your heart desires unto the Lord.
God, may your grace abound in my life never to doubt your promises concerning my life. Amen 🙏🏽
