TODAY’S VERSE:
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Luke 10:41-42
THEME: ONE THING IS NEEDFUL
WORDS OF HOPE:
Mary sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. Martha was cumbered about much serving. Normally, Martha would have been praised, Mary criticised. However, Jesus saw things differently. From His perspective, Mary was to be praised and Martha criticised. Why? Because Mary had chosen to do that one thing that’s needful, that is, being with Christ; fellowshipping with Him; listening to His word. Jesus, in this text, shows us the importance of spending time with him, listening to Him and getting to know Him closely over all other thing; it is the one needful thing. Jesus shows us that, far more than doing things for Him, God desires that we spend time with Him and get to know Him intimately. So, let’s also get our perspective right. Let’s place more value on fellowshipping with Jesus than on doing other things. Let’s consider spending time to know God more important than any other thing we could engage in, be it good or bad.

• Pray that you will love to spend time with God.
• Pray that you will be enabled to value fellowshipping with God and knowing Him above all other things.
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, may I, like Mary, love to sit at your feet and fellowship with you all the days of my life. May I come to know you intimately and become all that you have destined me to be, in Jesus’ Name! Amen 🙏🏽
