DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
MON. 11.02.2019

TODAY’S VERSE:
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 19:1-14

THEME: SECRET SINS; A FORGIVING GOD

WORDS OF HOPE:
English Pastor Thomas Watson (1620-1686) warned, “God can never be deceived by our subtlety, nor excluded by our secrecy.” Secret sin is not an isolated theme in scripture. The Psalmist admits that He has set our secret sins in the light of His presence. The teacher concludes in Ecclesiastes 12:14 that God will bring every deed to judgment, including every hidden thing. No wonder David pleads: “forgive my hidden faults.”
In I John 1:9, scripture says He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, if only we make confessions of that from our hearts. We have the hope in the death and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. We look up to Him in this season of Lent to have a good time by being honest about our secret sins, humble about our hidden faults, and hopeful about the finished work of Jesus on our behalf.

PRAYER POINTS:
· Pray for forgiveness of secret sins and hidden faults.
· Pray for grace to confess secret sins.
· Pray for belief to receive forgiveness after confessions.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to crush my pride and help me overcome secret sins. Grant me the spirit of humility to enable me make confessions of hidden faults in Jesus name.
Amen! 🙏🏽
