DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: PHILIPPIANS 1:3-8
THEME: ENDURE TO THE END
WORDS OF HOPE:
Paul expressed his gratitude to God with joy for the life of the church in Philippi. His reason for this celebration has to do with the partnership they shared from the beginning of his ministry. He encouraged them by acknowledging his responsibility of praying for them always. He was confident not only in their perseverance but in their sanctification and thus certain of their future with the Lord. This certainty is based on the fact that God who cannot lie will bring to perfection the work he has begun in them. Notice his statement in verse 6; “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.”
It is important to note that Paul had a good relationship with the Philippian church. Their love and commitment to the things of God was highly commendable. God is expecting us to hold unto our faith to the end. We can do this if we confidently depend on the Lord. We must be convinced about our salvation and must be joyful that others we have shared the word of God with are also living in such a way that glorifies God.
How often do you pray for new converts? How often do you pray for Christians to endure to the end? Mathew 24:13 states; “but the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Receive the grace to persevere to the end in the name of Jesus.
• Pray to be joyful in all situations
• Pray for the grace to endure to the end
• Pray for sustenance of the Lord
Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus that I will endure to the end in the name of Jesus. Amen
