DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: PSALM 55:22, MATT. 6:33
THEME: YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS COUNTS
WORDS OF HOPE:
A father, as the head of the family, is expected to always provide for his family, and so it was with a certain father somewhere. His child often came to him frequently to ask for items of desire, and he always provided them without asking any questions, even going as far as providing things that had not been requested of him.
One day this child went to the dad to ask for an item so dear to him but to his utmost surprise, his father asked a question. What do you do that merits this gift from me, my dear son? Though embittered by the question, he began to ponder on what he can say to gain favour for his gift. This child is just like you and I.
As believers, we always come before God to activate Matthew 7:7 but do not commit to lives of righteousness in Christ before God and humankind. An appointed time is coming, and perhaps now is, when God shall query us about our lives, questioning us on whether we merit what we ask for or receive freely from Him. Let your righteousness
count. As Matthew 6:33 says, we ought to seek first, the kingdom of God and His righteousness above everything else; only then shall we receive from heaven all the other things promised by God.
• God help to seek your kingdom first in every situation.
• Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead you to live righteously in every situation.
• Pray that God will respond to your call in every situation.
God, I seek you in every good or bad situation and live as Jesus did. Amen.
