DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: JOHN 21:15-17
THEME: DUTY CALLS; DO YOU LOVE ME?
WORDS OF HOPE:
After the death and resurrection of Jesus, Peter neglected the work and purpose for which Jesus called him. “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matt 4:19).
Instead of Peter going to fish for people, he went back to sea.
Many of us like Peter, have neglected the work and purpose for which God has called us. As someone who was entrusted to care for the other disciples, his neglect of duty also led to the other disciples neglecting their duty. Our actions affect the people who look up to us.
Jesus comes in again to reveal himself to the disciples. He engages Peter in an emotional conversation asking him thrice “Do you love me?”
It is only the love for God that will keep you in the duty to which He has called you. What have you been called to do at school, workplace, home, community, church, etc? Have you neglected that purpose or you are still on cause? Let the love of Jesus be your motivating factor.
• Pray that God will help you discover your purpose.
• Pray that you will be filled with the love of God.
• Pray for grace never to neglect your purpose.
Thank you Jesus for the great love you have for me. May I also love you always. Amen
