DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: GALATIANS 5:16-17
THEME: WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
WORDS OF HOPE:
The Christian walk is a spiritual journey. Beginning from a transformation from spiritual death (in the garden of Eden) into a new life (born again) in Jesus Christ.
All through the Bible, an unseen God is spoken of; a God who operates spiritually and physically in the affairs of men. The God of our fathers: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob is the same God today and continues to operate in the affairs of men. God is Spirit and we need to have an understanding of spiritual things to know Him and to walk with Him. Immediately we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, we begin a spiritual walk with Him which is through faith. In Christ, we are made a new creation – transformed in the Spirit which manifests in our way of life in the flesh.
As a new creation, the old man (flesh) begins struggling with the new man (spiritual life) because they are in conflict with each other (Gal. 5:17). We need to depend on the Spirit to strengthen us to overcome the dictates and the desires of the flesh. Walking in the Spirit requires allowing the Spirit of God to lead you and daily clinging to the Word of God (voice), abiding and living by His Word to do what the Word is required of you.
In order to walk in tune with the Spirit and overcome the flesh, we need to also fix our heart (desires) and our mind (thoughts) on things above and allow the Spirit to lead us always.
God requires a closer walk with us.
• Ask for grace to be a faithful partner in your walk with Him.
• Pray for the strength and grace to walk in the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh.
• Pray that, God will help you through His Spirit to constantly fix your thoughts, desires and affections on things above (God).
Father in Heaven, may you strengthen and empower me to know you more and to have a deeper walk with You. Amen
