WORDS OF HOPE:
When we describe God as all-knowing (omniscient), we do because He encompasses all knowledge of the universe: past, present, and future. He was in the beginning. He is eternal. He created knowledge. He has all the knowledge. Nothing can take Him by surprise. As He is sovereign, He also has ordained some things to happen that as Daniel 4:34-35 says “No one can hold back His hand or say to Him: “What have you done?”
Jesus’ prayer in the garden of Gethsemane teaches us a thing about the sovereign will of God. He had predestined Jesus to die (Acts 2:22-23). It was the will of God, nothing would stop it from happening. See now Jesus’ prayer as the hour came, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
We learn from Jesus’ example how we can pray when we are in situations that challenge us and cannot even “see” the hand of God in them: ask for His help and for strength to go through them (Isa 41:10) and pray that His will be done.
Fellow believers, God’s sovereign will may not be revealed to us but in every situation, know that He is there and His invisible hand is at work to bring about His glory!
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Worship the Lord for His mighty power. He is Sovereign. He is God.
• Ask the Lord for help and strength in every situation knowing that His hand is at work and His will be done.
• Seek the face of God to discern His will at all times
PRAYER:
Lord, God Almighty may your will be done in our life. Amen
