DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: ROMANS 12:1-2
THEME: PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL (3)
WORDS OF HOPE:
In addition to God’s decreed will (which we learnt yesterday), there are other aspects of His will for us to understand when we pray.
His will of command or His moral will is based on His holy and righteous nature and is spelt out in His Word which He commands us to do. The Bible is a guide for us to know God’s standard of what is right or wrong and is clear about His position on marriage, sexual immorality, stealing, greed, obedience, respect for lawful authority, and many others. We come to learn God’s moral will for us by studying the scripture and applying them to our hearts (Psa. 119:11). Likewise, we should not come to God in prayer asking for direction on a matter that is contrary to His moral will for us. Neither will He ask us to do anything forbidden in His word. He fulfils His commands when we obey.
In circumstances of daily life and direction that are not concerning His decreed will or moral will, we have a free will to live and choose. Our will is ours to make and is guided only by our love for God and for others. Indeed, in our free will, there may come a situation that may be perplexing with a lot at stake, even there, He is there for us. Remind Him of His promises in His word. Ask Him for wisdom. Ask in faith and He will bring it to pass. (Jam. 1:5-6)
Our highest aim in life is to bring glory to God (1Cor. 10:31). As we live for Him in our daily lives and are transformed by His word, our own will and desires will be focused to bring about His glory through us.
• Thank the Lord for giving His commands to us to guide us in living for Him
• Ask the Holy Spirit to help you trust and obey God’s commands to us bringing glory to God through our lives.
• Pray and seek His will for your life
Lord, help me to express my love for you in obedience to your word in every aspect of my life. Amen
