TODAY’S VERSE: HEBREWS 11:1-6
THEME: WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE GOD
WORDS OF HOPE:
As we call roll of the people of Faith of the past age, of Abel and then of Enoch who is described as one who pleased God, the writer stops to explain that: “without faith, it is impossible to please God”.
Think about this great challenge the writer poses to us today. How can our faith please the Lord God Almighty?
(1) We must believe that God is. You cannot have faith when you do not believe that He exists. Likewise, it takes faith to believe in God and in His nature, His splendour and His power.
(2) We must believe that God rewards those who are faithful to Him! Believing God exists is one thing, being faithful by desiring to be in His presence and seeking Him in our daily lives is more important!
When we live for Him, trusting in His promises, forsaking all fear, and without doubt, we take hold of the rewards that flow from His sufficiency.
So when we come to God with our requests in prayer, we must ask in faith, believing Him to answer us with either a “yes”, “no” or a “wait”. Our faith grows stronger as we put it to exercise when we give glory to God for every response He gives us and through every circumstance (Rom 4:20). If we doubt, we should not expect to receive anything from God (Jam. 1:5-7) it does not please Him!
Today, be confident that our God lives and He rewards our faithfulness now and forever!
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Worship the Lord, for He is God. Acknowledge His presence and power in your life
• Ask the Holy Spirit to help increase your faith in God.
• Seek the Holy Spirit to empower you to develop your faith.
PRAYER:
Lord, I acknowledge you as God. Help me grow in my faith in you so that my life can be pleasing to you. Amen
