DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: MATTHEW 14:30
THEME: WHAT DO YOU SEE?
WORDS OF HOPE:
One thing that steals our faith in receiving goodness is when we dwell on our state of affairs. In our text, we read that Peter was miraculously walking on water at the beckoning of Jesus, but later began to sink when his focused shifted from Jesus to the tidal waves around him. With his initial focus on Jesus, nothing else mattered, but taking his focus off Jesus to the challenges in his immediate environment, he began to drown in them.
Today I ask you, ‘when the tables turn against you, what do you see? Do you see Jesus or the circumstances around and before you?’ The medical report on that ailment came in positive, and is now draining all your strength, and your finances. Resolve to constantly fix your eyes on your saviour. Allow God to be alive in your situation by faithfully
looking up to him.
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills from where comes my help? My help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2). This is God speaking to you through the Psalmist. May your eyes only see God’s word for you.
• Thank God for his many blessings in your life and the life of your family
• Pray asking God for the favour and faith to trust him always
• Call unto Jesus to help you lock your eyes on him every day of your life
Jesus, help us to look up to you and not dwell on our draining circumstances. Amen
