DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: MATT 25:1-13
TOPIC: THE IMPORT OF BEING PREPARED
WORDS OF HOPE:
The parable of the wise and foolish bridesmaids (virgins) is like an anxiety dream for believers. It reminds us of the importance of being prepared at all times for the coming of the Lord. From the passage, we see five wise virgins who took extra oil in jars along with their lamps. They were well prepared for the coming of the bridegroom. The other five virgins being foolish only took their lamps without any extra oil. They may have their own plan: – perhaps they will say “we will get some from our friends or from the sellers when we run out of oil”.
This parable teaches us the advantage of being prepared over having a plan. It’s not just enough to have a plan for the second coming of Jesus Christ. Rather, you must stand prepared and ready for His return at all times.
In our daily lives at school, work and home, uncertainties are bound to happen. In such moments, our plans may fail but how prepared we are to face such uncertainties is what will carry us through.
• Pray for the grace to be well prepared for any circumstances of life.
• Pray for the ability to always make the right choice.
• Pray that you will not live as unwise but as wise.
Father, grant unto us the grace to be always prepared for your coming. Amen
