DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: JUDE 1:20
THEME: PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT
WORDS OF HOPE:
The Bible says, God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. As Christians born of the Spirit, we are also Spirit beings because the Spirit of God lives in us. To commune with God (prayer), we need to be in His realm – spiritual realm. Praying in the Spirit is a spiritual activity which involves yielding to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Michael Milton describes praying in the Spirit as “prayer with divine help”. Here, it involves praying with the help of the Holy Spirit who is constantly reminding you of your position as the heir of God. When we pray in the Spirit, He illuminates our mind and moves our heart and grants freedom of utterance and expression. In this prayer, the Spirit empowers the prayer and carries it to the Father in the name of Jesus. It involves being caught up in the Spirit and where words sometimes mean nothing but our Spirit speaks directly with God by searching the deep things of God.
This may involve groanings, speaking in tongues and worshipping within. Here the flesh profits nothing but only the Spirit is at work. One grows as there is continuous fellowship and engagement of the Spirit on daily basis. Yearn for another deeper realm of prayer where deep calls unto deep (Psalm 42:7).
• Thank God for the Holy Spirit who helps us in our prayers.
• Pray asking God to sharpen your prayer life by the enablement of the Holy Spirit
• Ask God to teach you to pray and to help you pray in the Spirit on all occasions.
I build myself in the most holy faith and I receive grace to pray in the Holy Spirit on all occasions in Jesus Name, Amen!
