DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: JOHN 14:18
THEME: THE HOLY SPIRIT; MY COMFORTER
WORDS OF HOPE:
In our journey through life, we are sometimes hard-pressed on every side, perplexed, persecuted, struck down and disappointed and we need a word or words of comforting to encourage us to put ourselves together.
Life carries its own issues that beat upon us. On his bed of affliction whilst dying, a father encouraged and gave hope to his family that though he was going, God was with them and will take care of them. He assured them, “you have enjoyed my love, care and support but God is able to do abundantly, you’re not alone and He will watch over you”. This gave great comfort to the family to live with hope after he passed on.
Like the disciples, God says “I will not leave you …without plans for you”. He is continually with us and watches over and provides for us in every way. As Jesus was with the disciples and walked with them, He is with us through the presence and workings of the Holy Spirit.
This day, be assured that God is with us and through His Spirit daily, comforts through His word. Open up your Spirit to Him and hear what He says. Let 2 Cor. 1: 3-7 encourages us to enjoy the comforting words of God as He lives and works in us through His Spirit.
• Thank God for His consolation in times of trouble.
• Ask God to daily give you that comforting word to encourage you and keep your faith strong.
• Pray for God to heal the broken-hearted and bind up the wounded.
Lord, thank you that, you comfort us in all our troubles to stand strong and comfort others. Help us never to give up, but stand firm in the faith so we can comfort others to deal with their troubles. Amen
