THEME: FULLNESS IN CHRIST
WORDS OF HOPE:
Paul urged the Colossian church to live to please the Lord. He gives them a firm admonition: If you are in Christ – walk in Him. Paul’s admonition to walk in Christ is followed by four phrases that describe a faithful walk:
Rooted in Him, Built up in Him, Established in the Faith, Abounding in Thanksgiving. The believer must be established firmly in the Lord to overcome the various challenges in this life.
He again explains the superiority of Christ to all traditions and elemental spiritual forces. By this he meant that accepting the Lord as your personal savior and fully trusting in Him places you above all other principalities.
To Him, Christ is enough for the believer. He outlines the following reasons for depending on God at all times;
• All the fullness of the deity lives in bodily form
• Christ is the head of every power and authority
• You have been made anew
You have to come to the understanding that there is no power above Christ. Walk in confidence that no one can harm you because you are in Christ. You are under his covering and protection. Never be deceived by anyone.
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Lord, may I be established in the faith.
• Lord, may I walk in the newness of the Lord always.
• Lord, may I please you always.
PRAYER:
Lord, all power belongs to you. Keep me and my family under your protection always. Amen
